An Ohio man has been sentenced to decades in 45 years prison for robbery and killing a police dog named Jethro.
Kelontre Barefield was sentenced to 1 count of aggravated robbery with a firearm, 1 count of felonious assault while discharging a firearm at a peace officer, 1 count of felonious assault on a police dog and breaking and entering, Fox 8 reports.
He had faced up to 50 years in prison but the plea deal reduced Barefield’s sentence to 45 years.
Barefield is 23.
