Again and again black people have made the point that what law enforcement does to African-Americans, they will eventually do to whites. And as of late, it seems that white Americans are getting rougher treatment from the boys in blue. Case and point: Mediaite shared a video of a cop smacking a young boy in the face while dragging him through a neighborhood.
The altercation reportedly occurred in Oregon when the officer attempted to return the boy home after he’d run away. The 10 year old had been removed from the home of his mother and was being returned to his custodial home.
Video shows the child trying to wiggle away from the officer as he is being carried away, then the officer turns and slaps the child in the face. When confronted by onlookers about why he smacked the child in the face, the officer accuses the child of biting him.
“You do not hit an underage child!” shouted one onlooker, and “You’re hitting a child that’s not yours!”
Passersby didn’t seem to be helping the situation, with one of them attempting to block the officer from walking, while another young child threatened to send his mafia friends after the officer.
However, the question remains whether slapping a child in the face is an effective way of subduing him or her? Considering that kids of that age and weight are fairly easy to subdue, was there another course of action that the officer should have taken?
